Roles and Responsibilities - Business Web Contact


For projects to be a success, clear roles and responsibilities need to be created. Providence has created numerous duty statements for organizations and projects.  Below is a sample for the Web contact within a Business Unit.

Position Overview: Business Units should assign experts (power users) that reside in their units to assist, encourage, coach, and train end-users to utilize the web (internet and intranet) as a means to cut cost and improve communications.  These Web Contacts are also critical in the success of internet and intranet sites to: reduce duplication of efforts, identify features that would be valuable to there organizations, and communicate the value of the web throughout all levels of the enterprise.

WEB CONTACT - ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Internet

  • Draft pages as appropriate.

  • Assist internal content writers with relevant technical issues.

  • Convert Word / PowerPoint documents into CMS.

  • Ensure that all Internet pages have been approved by the Business Chief (or designee).

  • Perform Quality Assessment on proposed web pages.

Intranet

  • Draft pages as appropriate.

  • Assist internal content writers with relevant technical issues.

  • Convert Word / PowerPoint documents into CMS.

  • Ensure that all Intranet pages have been approved by the Business Chief (or designee).

  • Perform Quality Assessment on proposed web pages.

Communication

  • Inform and update internal content writers.

  • Educate internal content writers about Electronic Documents (as appropriate).

  • Communicate with MIS on web-related information.

  • Gain consensus on web-related issues within the Business Division.

Administrative

  • Coordinate content development.

  • Develop internal policies and procedures to deal with process flows.

  • Attend Web Working Group Meetings.

  • Attend CMS Users Group and training sessions (as appropriate).

  • Complete appropriate paperwork.
