Reporting Analyst
Under the supervision of the Application
Development Manager and a Lead Developer, this position will be
responsible for developing reports, performing Business Objects
development tasks on a project team, translating functional / technical
specifications to a working universe, documenting technical approaches
and code and resolving issues with business analysts and/or project
lead.
Duties:
- The
successful candidate must be able to handle multiple high priority
tasks simultaneously with superior organizational skills.
- Candidate must be comfortable interfacing with Sr.
management and non-technical staff.
- The candidate will be explaining
technical issues to non-technical people so verbal communication is
critical.
- This
position is responsible for the various activities associated with
the development of (example: Business Objects Universes, Reports and
Dashboards).
- Collect,
analyze, evaluate business requirements; translate into production
reports.
- Recognize
and denote issues & problems; develop recommendations &
solutions; and implement problem resolution; conduct post-mortem
analyses.
- Work
effectively with management, independently, and follow through on
assignments.
- Participate
in a team environment.
- Communicate
issues orally, and in writing, to management.
- Effectively
bridge the communication gap between technology and business
entities.
Experience:
- 2-3
years experience with (example: Business Objects design, development,
deployment and support.)
- 2-3
years experience with (example: Crystal Reports 8.5 and 9 Designer, Crystal
Report Enterprise)
- Ad-hoc
reporting experience.
- Microsoft
tools: Office Suite, Project/Visio.
- Solid
Database Knowledge (table structure, views, queries)
- Ability
to take requirements and formulate flexible reporting application
designs based on established enterprise standards and defined system
architectures.
- Excellent
verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience
with informally training users on how to trouble shoot reports.
- Complex
problem analysis skills.
- Must
be detail-oriented and have a demonstrated expertise in all aspects
of designing structured information reports, developing ad hoc
queries and writing queries.
- Must
demonstrate a logical and methodical approach to technical problem
resolution. Business analysis proficiency in developing structured
documentation of existing or new processes and conducting
test/quality assurance activities.
- Four
year college degree a definite plus.
