Technical Lead

Under the supervision of the (position name) this is a lead position that will provide guidance to approximately (#) application development staff. This guidance will include assisting in the allocation of resources, architecting web and/or client/server applications and providing technical direction and assistance in the area of reporting.

Duties

• General project management duties, resource management, effective communication within and outside the departmental structure.
• Assist in evaluating gap analyses, and evaluate user requirements, documentation, scope of work analyses and other application development related subjects; cost-benefit analyses.
• Collect, analyze, evaluate business requirements; translate into project plans using MS Project, to include cost estimation.
• Report directly to the (position name).
• Exercise strong leadership techniques in a team environment.
• Maintain a broad knowledge of state-of-the-art technology, equipment, and/or systems, and the limitations of technology.
• Leadership in planning, developing and implementing development strategies.
• Assist in directing Department activities such as production of systems, scheduling and facilitating meetings, directing and controlling agendas.
• Recognize and denote issues & problems; develop recommendations & solutions; and oversee problem resolution; conduct post-mortem analyses.
• Work effectively with management, independently, and follow through on assignments. Promote and nurture a team environment.
• Communicate issues orally, and in writing, to management.
• Effectively bridge the communication gap between technology and business entities.

Experience:

• Principles, techniques and practices of leading application development, implementation, integration and delivery.
• Solid understanding of client/server technologies, reporting and web-based technologies.
• Leadership experience and interacting with multiple client groups to ensure business requirements are defined, understood, and met. Interaction will be with diverse entities.
• Experience in preparing illustrations, charts, graphs and other visual aids.

Skill Set: Minimum: Project management experience in an application development environment. Experience in leading projects within client/server and web-based environments, and developing in (named) technologies. 
Desired: Experience in project management within an Enterprise environment. Four year college degree a definite plus.
